ÀÖ²©´«Ã½Publications seeks expressions of interest from qualified individuals interested in serving as an author, co-authoring team, or volume editor for a new, up-to-date book focused on counseling older adults. In light of demographic shifts toward an aging population and recent changes in Medicare policy affecting mental health coverage, ÀÖ²©´«Ã½aims to publish a resource that reflects current practice, policy, and research related to counseling older clients across settings.
We welcome interest from those proposing:
- a single-authored volume,
- a co-authored volume, or
- an edited volume led by a volume editor with demonstrated relevant expertise to lead development of a volume on this subject matter.
The resulting book should address contemporary clinical, ethical, cultural, and systemic issues relevant to counseling older adults and be appropriate for professional counselors, counselor educators, graduate students, and related mental health professionals.
Application Instructions
Individuals or teams interested in authoring or editing this book should submit:
- A letter of interest that:
- Describes the applicant’s (or team’s) relevant experience and qualifications
- Indicates whether the application is for a single-authored, co-authored, or edited volume
- Articulates a clear vision for the book, including:
- The proposed scope and focus of the volume
- The intended audience
- Key themes, topics, or organizing framework the volume might include
- A brief CV for each proposed author or editor, highlighting relevant professional and publication experience
Responsibilities if Selected
For Authors or Co-Authoring Teams:
- Develop a full book proposal as detailed at /publications/aca-books/book-proposal
- Revise and refine the proposal in collaboration with the Acquisitions Editor prior to review by the ÀÖ²©´«Ã½Book Editorial Board
- Deliver a complete manuscript by a mutually agreed-upon timeline
For Volume Editor or Editorial Team:
- Develop a full edited-volume proposal /publications/aca-books/book-proposal
- Revise and refine the proposal in collaboration with the Acquisitions Editor prior to review by the ÀÖ²©´«Ã½Book Editorial Board
- Recruit and manage contributing chapter authors
- Oversee manuscript development and ensure delivery of the complete manuscript by a mutually agreed-upon timeline
