SCOPE

The Journal of Addictions & Justice-Involved Counseling (JAJIC) aims to publish articles that focus on how counselors can support clients affected by addictions and/or the criminal justice system. JAJIC accepts articles that can inform and facilitate the work of clinicians, counselor educators, supervisors, researchers, and advocates who work specifically with clients and their families impacted by addiction, the criminal justice system, or both. Articles of interest may focus on prevention and treatment programs, effective clinical strategies, innovative treatment approaches, instrument development, the use of culturally sensitive assessments, and best practices in counselor education for teaching or supervising clinicians working with addictions and/or within the justice system. JAJIC publishes various types of research, including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods studies. In addition, JAJIC publishes position papers, best practice papers, and literature reviews. All articles should relate to the scope of the journal, which is to support clinical practice related to working with addictions and/or justice-involved individuals, couples, and families.
