We are pleased to announce that John C. Nance, PhD, LCMHC-S, NCC, has been elected the 2026–2027 ÀÖ²©´«Ã½ (ACA) president-elect. He will begin his term on July 1.
Nance is an associate clinical professor and director of clinical field placements in counselor education and supervision at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He is also a licensed clinical mental health counselor supervisor, national certified counselor and approved clinical supervisor, bringing more than 20 years of experience in clinical practice, supervision and counselor education. An ÀÖ²©´«Ã½member since 2001, Nance is a nationally recognized scholar and presenter, with numerous peer-reviewed publications and over 35 refereed presentations addressing trauma, social justice, LGBTQ+ development, addictions and lifespan considerations. In addition to electing Nance, ÀÖ²©´«Ã½members chose 11 new board members and other leaders as part of ACA's transition into a new governance structure.
